Yael Miller - Angry
Mei Fa Tan, 2020, 3m17
C’est quoi les klaps ?A young woman, interpreted by Sino-Brazilian actress Isabela de Moraes Evangelista, is unpacked in a laboratory, to be the face of various brands. Manipulated, fashioned according to the desires of the marketing, she is used until the exhaustion, then removed and replaced, in an endless loop. With a streamlined direction, Mei Fa Tan, rewarded at the Solothurner Filmtage for her previous works, plunges us into this strange but yet familiar universe.
The song addresses the emotions that can take over life, these voices that haunt us and paralyze us. It also talks about the acceptance of living with our sensitivity and how to transcend it.
The artistic and human collaboration between Yael Miller and Mei Fa Tan questions our relationship to the consumerism and the body of women.
